After a sluggish warm up it was no surprise when Stortford found themselves 7-0 down when a pacy Letchworth winger sprinted clear and scored under our posts. Conceding the first score did appear to wake us up however and we battled back strongly. Luca was the first onto the score sheet, diving over after sustained pressure on the Letchworth line. Five minutes later Tom G grounded following a powerful catch and drive line out to put us 7-12 up. We were beginning to fire, but squandered several good opportunities by failing to deliver the final pass before Matt F powered over the line for his first try of the day. Our host rallied, and added a second try to close the half 14-17.

The second half proved a more open affair, and Stortford really took hold of the match running in 6 more tries beginning with a wide finish from Will S. Tom G and Matt F then added a second try each before Sam A scored his first try since returning to the club. Matt crossed again to complete his hat-trick and Zico powered through for our final score. We ran the clock down to close out an impressive second half performance and another HML victory.

Sam A was deservedly awarded PoM for his strong running and consistent line breaks, special mention should also go to Will V who, due to injuries and withdrawals, played the whole game at inside centre and distributed solidly.
