Saturday sees the visit of relegated Fylde to Silver Leys, a match in which Stortford's squad will be looking to make a point, having contributed one of only three wins achieved by the visitors in the reverse fixture back in December. Fylde showed that day their ability to battle, if given the opportunity, when they deservedly beat a decidedly lacklustre Stortford.
Having gone there on the back of a notable draw at home with the powerful Darlington Mowden Park side, Stortford were deprived of a number of first choice players for the long trip north, but that did not fully explain the slump in form seen that day. They will be determined, therefore, not to let their recent run of great form slip to allow the possibility of a repeat of the away performance. As the young, spirited Fylde squad showed up there, though, they will need to be put away. There can be no complacency, therefore, despite last week's achievement in becoming the only team this season to complete the double over Blackheath. The possibility of becoming the only side to lose twice to the north westerners will surely be incentive enough to avoid any remote risk of over-confidence this week.
