On Sat 22nd March 500+ members travelled to Spurs to watch annual fixture with their age groups. Logistics this year were a little complicated due to bus replacements services but by hook a crook we made it and it was great to see so many faces in the ground.
A big thank you to all the coaches that coordinated the bookings and communications to your respective groups and thanks go to Richmonds for supplying 2 luxury Double Deckers coaches on the day to get the match day troops to the ground on time.
We were the LARGEST club group in the ground for the 3rd year in a row! The benefits of this is for each subsidised ticket sold under the BSRFC code Saracens return a cashback to the club which can be used for our community. This money is split between, JOCA, Mini’s and Youth for the good of all.
We also get to choose what Player’s shirt has the privilege of donning the club badge.
Last year we chose Owen Farrel who was also marking the his 250th cap in his final season for a club that he has played for all his life. This shirt is on display in the club house.
This year the current England Captain Maro Itoji got this privilege of having our club badge on his shirt.
Humble Brag!…. Being the highest league playing Hertfordshire Club we have seen the likes of many Saracen players gracing the hallowed turf of Silver Leys and in turn we have built up strong relationship with them.
This year we had an additional bonus of having some of our younger player and future stars take part in the pre-match festivities and Guard of Honour.
Nikky (mini chair) and the coaches arranged the day for the U9’s, U11’s and a few competition winners to see behind the scenes on the day and be right in the action at the start of the match. Please find the report at the bottom of this post.
Not only that Nikky was introduced to Saracens community staff, Rich, Fin, Emma and others. Emma, a current player at Saracens was impressed with the behaviour of the boys and girls taking part and was impressed how we run our clubs Mini, Youth and Girl sections. A good contact for the future!
If you haven’t been… it’s a great day out so look for the emails at the next season and join the fun.
Have a great rest of the season and summer and see you all next year.
