Our first fixture of 2016 and we were able to field 3 teams for the first time this season.

Our 1st Team played Harpenden A's, the 2nd Team played OA's B's and the 3rd Team faced Harpenden C's.

The 1st Team had a very tough match against one of the strongest teams in the county. A very physical game, with no quarter given and none asked. For a low scoring match, it was still a pleasure to watch with both teams playing extremely well in defence. The final score a true reflection of the game, that neither team deserved to lose.

The 2nd Team was probably the strongest B Team we have ever managed to put out, with a lot of the players having been able to get some experience in the 1st Team this season. The defence was excellent, with the boys working as a team, filling in any gaps in the line with some great communication. Something we've not always used to our advantage previously. With some strong running in attack, the Whites were able to overpower the OA's, but were still guilty of taking the ball into contact, rather than spreading the ball wide. Overall a very good performance, but from a coaches point of view it could be better, after the standards we have seen from these boys over the earlier part of the season.

The 3rd Team played with the tenacity we have been seeing all season from them. Another close hard match which was also a contest of 2 strong defences. The boys have built up a great team spirit and all work hard for each other, defending with the Saracens Wolf Pack mentality. With only the 1 try to Stortford, it became very tense for the home support, until the boys scored a couple of late to secure the victory. The pick of the tries being a well worked passing move, getting the ball quickly out to the wing for a try in the corner. Back on the winning track, with a 4-1 winning record!
